SOOCSunday...Trillium

. Sunday, April 8, 2012 .
We went hiking over the weekend, sorta the last hurrah before school starts again tomorrow morning bright and early.  The weather could not have been better.  Cool, a little breeze and warm sunshine.

I think the flowers were feeling it too.  The Solomon's Seal were going crazy.  There were May Apples up and spreading on the floor of the forest.  I almost stepped on the first trillium that I saw.  I was so excited to see it. And then to be able impress my hiking buddies with the fact that I knew what the flower was.  I tried to dig just one up to bring home to hopefully transplant to grow under our big oak tree.

I haven't been over to Jan's blog, Murrieta365, to see what other photographers/bloggers have to offer  this week.  Want to join me there?

  1. What is the name of that flower? I saw some of that in my Grandma's backyard.
